A Magical Cruise on the Rhine River
An unforgettable day aboard a riverboat along the breathtaking Rhine Valley
The day begins with a scenic bus ride along the western bank of the Rhine to the charming town of Bacharach — a town that looks as though it was lifted straight from an old postcard. We visit the magnificent ruins of Werner Chapel and hear the fascinating story of the Jewish community that flourished here during the Middle Ages – a story immortalized in the writings of Heinrich Heine.
From there, we cross the river by ferry to the wine town of Rüdesheim, where we stroll along the famous wine alley, the Drosselgasse. In the afternoon, we board our riverboat and set sail northward along the Rhine. We glide past the mythological Lorelei Cliff and hear the legend of the enchanting nymph who lured sailors to their fate – a poem translated into Hebrew by Shaul Tchernichovsky.
The day comes to a close with a visit to Rheinfels Castle – a true medieval knight’s fortress perched on a cliff, offering a breathtaking panoramic view over the entire Rhine Valley.

History, Culture, and Jewish Heritage — Right from the Hotel Door
A walking tour through the heart of the city where Ashkenazi Jewish life was born and the printing press changed the world forever. We begin with a leisurely stroll along the Rhine Promenade, walking alongside the river as boats and rivercraft glide past.
From there, we make our way to the Market Square, home to the magnificent Renaissance fountain dating back to the 16th century, and then on to Gutenberg Square, where a famous statue of the inventor of the printing press stands before the iconic glass-roofed National Theater.
The highlight of the tour is the new “Maor HaGola” Synagogue — a groundbreaking architectural masterpiece built in the shape of the Hebrew letter “Kuf,” a symbol of Jewish revival in Mainz. We conclude with a walk through the historic alleyways of the ancient Jewish Quarter, leading toward the lively pedestrian boulevard.
Frankfurt
A vibrant metropolis of history, culture, and stunning architecture.
We visit the historic Römerberg Square — the heart of the Old City, lined with picturesque half-timbered houses and the impressive Old Town Hall. We cross the famous Iron Bridge, offering the finest vantage point over the gleaming skyscrapers reflected in the River Main. We pass by Goethe House, the birthplace of Germany’s greatest poet, and continue to the Cultural Mile, home to the magnificent Frankfurt Opera House, one of the most beautiful in all of Germany. We conclude with shopping and leisure along the famous Zeil, one of the most popular commercial streets in all of Europe.
ShUM Communities Worms and Speyer
A deeply moving journey filled with Jewish meaning and heritage
A profoundly meaningful journey to cities declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the cradle of Jewish civilization in Europe. A full day following in the footsteps of our greatest sages, through ancient synagogues and a thousand years of Jewish legacy.
In Worms, the city of Rashi and the Maharam, we visit the ancient synagogue, meticulously reconstructed to its original form, where we see the famous “Rashi’s Chair” and the magnificent 12th-century mikveh.
On the Jewish street, we stop before a small rounded indentation in the wall. According to tradition, this is the very spot where Rashi’s mother was miraculously saved — a horseman came riding toward her at speed, she pressed herself against the wall, and a hollow formed around her, sheltering both mother and her unborn child.
We also tour the Jewish Museum, home to rare manuscripts and ceremonial objects, and pay a deeply moving visit to the “Holy Sand” cemetery — the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe still intact — where the Maharam of Rothenburg and other great sages of the generation are laid to rest.
From there we continue to Speyer, where we visit the “Jewish Courtyard” complex, featuring the ruins of a medieval synagogue and one of the finest and best-preserved mikvehs in all of Europe, built in stunning Romanesque style.
Heidelberg The Pearl of the Renaissance

We ride the cable car up to the famous Heidelberg Castle — one of the most impressive architectural masterpieces in all of Germany — where one of the most beautiful views you will ever see unfolds before you.
Inside the castle, a remarkable surprise awaits: the world’s largest wine barrel, with a capacity of approximately 220,000 liters, alongside the rare Pharmacy Museum, home to a fascinating collection of ancient instruments and historical medicines.
We then stroll through the picturesque alleyways of the Old Town, pass by the historic university, and cross the Old Bridge, offering a breathtaking view of the river and the castle rising majestically above.
Strasbourg and Obernai in the Alsace Region, France

We stroll through the picturesque alleyways of Strasbourg, marvel at the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral, and visit the impressive synagogue — a living testament to the city’s glorious Jewish community.
From there we continue to Obernai, a enchanting medieval gem with a vibrant market square, fine Alsatian wine, and a rich ancient Jewish heritage.
Colmar and Domaine Koening - The Wine Region of Alsace

We begin with a visit to the kosher family winery Domaine Koening, where we enjoy tastings of fine Alsatian wines against a backdrop of endless rolling vineyards. From there we continue to Colmar, the jewel of Alsace — wandering through colorful alleyways, along the charming canals of “Little Venice,” and visiting the impressive historic synagogue. A day that perfectly combines Jewish heritage, enchanting architecture, and French cuisine at its finest.

A day of classic European elegance in one of southern Germany’s most prestigious and captivating destinations.
We stroll along the breathtaking pastoral promenade, admire the magnificent casino — one of the most beautiful in the world, designed in the style of royal French palaces — and wander through the Old Town’s charming alleyways lined with luxury boutiques and enchanting cafés. We conclude with the legendary thermal spa experience — the perfect retreat for body and soul.
Luxembourg
A city with a unique European atmosphere found nowhere else in the world.
We depart Mainz westward through the lush landscapes of the Rhineland-Palatinate region and arrive in Luxembourg — one of the most beautiful and meticulously preserved cities in all of Europe.
We begin on the Chemin de la Corniche, known as “the most beautiful balcony in Europe,” offering a breathtaking panoramic view over the Alzette River and the ancient Grund quarter nestled in the valley below. From there we continue to the Bock Casemates — a remarkable network of tunnels and fortifications carved directly into the rock, with a fascinating military history stretching back centuries.
We then make our way to the magnificent Grand Ducal Palace, with its ornate façade and the Changing of the Guard ceremony, and on to Constitution Square, where the iconic golden “Gëlle Fra” monument stands before the grand Adolf Bridge spanning the green valley below.
We descend into the picturesque Grund quarter, strolling along the riverbanks between ancient buildings in a peaceful, village-like atmosphere — before returning to the upper city aboard the transparent Pfaffenthal panoramic elevator, offering one final breathtaking view over the entire valley and the city’s modern bridges above.
Tzion of the Baal Shem of Michelstadt
A Special Tefillah on Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul
On Erev Rosh Chodesh Elul, we travel to the town of Michelstadt for a deeply moving visit to the tzion of the holy Baal Shem of Michelstadt.
The tzaddik passed away on Tzom Gedaliah. He promised that all prayers offered at his grave would be answered.
During the visit, we will also tour the historic Jewish synagogue of the town, and a special tefillah will be held there on Erev Rosh Chodesh.
